چکیده
One of the obstacles in Asian redtail catfish hatchery is high cannibalism incidence. Cannibalism associated with aggressive behavior caused by hormonal metabolism especially testosterone. The purpose this study was to evaluate effect testosterone administration on incidence juveniles. experiment conducted rearing fish initial length 4.09±0.19 cm 16 20 L aquariums a density 2 L-1. designed completely randomized design 4 treatments which were different level 17α-methyltestosterone supplementation feed, i.e., 0 mg kg-1 feed (A) as control, 7.5 (B), 15 (C), and 30 (D). Each treatment has replications. Fish fed experimental diet (40% protein) times day satiation for days. parameters observed type index cannibalism, behavior, survival rate, normal mortality, growth performance, hormones concentrations (estradiol, testosterone, cortisol), water quality. results showed that II (the eaten or missing) increased increasing doses highest 40.63%. rate found B (73.75±2.50%) not significantly from control (69.38±2.39%). No differences concentration performance among treatments. However, there trend decrease estradiol juveniles ration supplemented 17α-methyltestosterone. Based obtained research, changed body's plasma, it appears role plasma controlling It concluded affected Catfish.

Cage-cultured Asian redtail catfish Hemibagrus nemurus (Valenciennes, 1840), a popular food fish in Southeast Asia, proved to be infected by 3 myxozoan species. All the 3 species belonged to the genus Henneguya: 2 were identified as H. mystusia Sarkar, 1985 and H. hemibagri Tchang et Ma, 1993, while the other was described as H. basifilamentalis sp. n. All plasmodia were found in the gills and ...
متن کاملExtraction and characterization of gelatin from different fresh water fishes as alternative sources of gelatin
Gelatins from the skin of four different species of fresh water fish, namely pangas catfish (Pangasius pangasius), Asian redtail catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus), striped snakehead (Channa Striata), and Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) have been successfully extracted by citric acid. The gelatin from pangas catfish was found to possessed the highest rheology properties compared to the others. I...
